The above is a list of songs Elvis rehearsed for his upcoming Las Vegas engagement, but it is unknown which individual rehearsals they were tried out at.

A different mix of the ending of Take 4 of 'The Wonder Of You' on the bootleg box set Rebooked At The International and the Madison bootlegs is spliced in before the dialogue before Take 4 and listed as being Take 3 - This is Fake!
The rehearsal is presented correctly with takes 2, 3 and 4 in full on the Legacy edition of On Stage.

'Walk A Mile In My Shoes' is listed on the bootleg set Rebooked At The International as being from this rehearsal, although it's the performance from February 18 Midnight Show that appears on the set.

This rehearsal is released almost complete on Follow That Dream's two book and eight CD set That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition, although the FTD set does omit the acetate playback sections, and sections where there are long, silent pauses in between rehearsals of the songs.

The parts of songs rehearsed on this date, which were used in the original That's The Way It Is movie, were physically cut from MGM's tapes, and are now lost. This explains how the part of 'The Next Step Is Love' heard in the movie is not on the FTD set, and also why 'Words' is all cut up and 'Polk Salad Annie' is not complete on the FTD set.

Without doubt, the best source for this rehearsal is Follow That Dream's two book and eight CD set That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition, where the rehearsal is presented (mostly) in stereo, although the FTD set does omit the acetate playback section, and some sections where there are long, silent pauses in between rehearsals of the songs.

The more complete rehearsal with everything, including the acetate playback, long pauses and some sections where Elvis is off mic', can be found on the Gravel Road bootleg set Get Down And Dirty, where it is presented in mono, presumably from MGM's own Nagra tapes.

Rehearsals continued with no cameras or recording equipment present.

On the 2015 bootleg 8xCD box-set That's The Way It Is - The Rehearsals, there is a tape legend showing a different track listing for the July 24 1970 rehearsal. It is possible that the tape legend is real and that the RCA tapes are edited together different to how the songs were actually performed, although there are more songs on RCA's tapes for this rehearsal than what the bootleg tape legend shows as being recorded:

This rehearsal is released almost complete and in stereo on Follow That Dream's two book and eight CD set That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition, although the FTD set does omit some brief sections where there are long, silent pauses in between rehearsals of the songs, as well as take slates. This was presumably done to fit the complete rehearsal on one CD.

The first part of 'I Washed My Hands In Muddy Water' on FTD's That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition set is on the original tape FTD have, which is why they included it as part of the rehearsal. The song suddenly stops three-quarters of the way through and then starts again, this time playing the complete song, which is from a different source, and is a different mix and lower sound level, to the rest of the rehearsal.

There is a tape fault at the start of 'What'd I Say' which is edited out on most releases of the song, but is complete on FTD's That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition set.

On the Gravel Road bootleg set Plugged In & Geared Up the rehearsal is presented in binaural, with the band in the left channel and Elvis' vocals in the right channel.

Rehearsals continued after filming and audio recording was finished, and Elvis left at around 7.15pm.

The rehearsal is released almost complete, albeit all in mono, on Follow That Dream's two book and eight CD set That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition, although the set does omit the first, incomplete version of 'Something'. The rehearsal was probably presented in mono for ease of listening, so as not to mix 2-track and mono recordings, although they did mix the two sets of stereo and mono recordings for the July 15 rehearsal.

The short section before Elvis arrives is Felton Jarvis with Mille Kirkham, The Sweet Inspirations and The Imperials rehearsing to acetates of 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me' and 'Twenty Days And Twenty Nights'. It is more than likely to be from the afternoon rehearsal, which was only for the backing vocal groups.

Almost all of the intro's of these songs from this rehearsal were not recorded by RCA. On FTD's Stage Rehearsal the intro's have been reconstructed from live performances of the same songs.

Rather than presenting this rehearsal as it was originally recorded by RCA, on Follow That Dream's two book and eight CD set That's The Way It Is - 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition it was decided to do just a direct copy of FTD's previous stand-alone CD release Stage Rehearsal, on which the order of the rehearsal was all mixed up, and the introductions to the songs were spliced in from live performances of the same songs. Memphis Recording Service used an exact copy of the rehearsal as presented on FTD, on which the order of the rehearsal was all mixed up, on their International Presents Elvis - September 1970 2xCD release, but they managed to edit out some applause and use different intros on some songs.

It is possible that RCA's tape isn't all from August 10, and could in fact be a selection of recordings from the August 9 and 10 rehearsals.
