It appears to be a mistake by FTD presenting the whole album in mono. The cataogue number of the album is "LSO 1080", and states "Living Stereo" on the cover and all four sides of the LPs. If it was intended to be a mono album, surely they should have used the "LOC" (mono) prefix for the catalogue number, and stated "Mono" on the LP sides!
It Happened At The World's Fair was first released by Follow That Dream as a 7 inch extended soundtrack CD in April 2003 (see here), and this vinyl edition uses some tracks taken from that original release. However, where the outtakes and masters were presented in stereo or binaural on the 7 inch soundtrack, they are presented in mono here.
Although takes 2, 3 and 4 of 'I'm Fallling In Love Tonight' are listed on this set (side 1, track 4), it is actually takes 2, 3, 4 and 1, and although takes 6 and 7 of 'I'm Falling In Love Tonight' are listed (side 4, track 6), it is actually just take 6 that appear on here.
Take 5 of 'I'm Falling In Love Tonight', take 1 of 'How Would You Like To Be' and take 9 of 'Happy Ending' were all first released by FTD on the classic album of Elvis For Everyone (see here). However, take 5 of 'I'm Falling In Love Tonight' and take 1 of 'How Would You Like To Be' were in stereo on that set.
