These books cover the making of the movie, and the accompanying CDs include the complete recording sessions for Blue Hawaii.
Although slightly edited, this CD set is the best source for these soundtrack recording sessions, with everything restored, remixed and remastered from the original 3-track tapes.
When the master takes were cut from the stereo session tapes, so were some of the take slates and count-in's, which is why some of the remixed masters appear without the take slates and count-in on this set. They all remained intact on the mono session tapes.
Take 18 of 'Slicin' Sand' does not appear on this set, although it is only a short false start with no involvement from Elvis.
For the 'Can't Help Falling In Love' session it appears that FTD have used a private stereo source for takes 1 to 12, as they do not have that reel in their possession.
