The book covers a period of four days in May 1956 (May 25-28).

We join the tour in Detroit, Michigan where Elvis packs the house for three shows at the Fabulous Fox treater and hosts a private party for some lucky youngsters, and a party later for the adults. Then journey to Columbus, and Dayton, Ohio and finally home to Memphis where he gets to spend a few days with his family in the house he'd bought them on Audubon Drive.
