The definitive release of these sessions can be found on Follow That Dream's limited edition The Something For Everybody Sessions (featuring the Wild In The Country sessions) 4xCD set, where everything has been remastered from scratch, and all masters and outtakes are presented in the best possible sound.
Remixed versions of 'I'm Comin' Home' and
'I Want You With Me' can be found on Return
Of The Rocker.
Most of this session as released on the Famous
Groove bootleg CD Something Complete has the left and right channels swapped. This
could indicate an MP3 source, or an earlier form
of compression was used for that release.
The re-recording of 'There's Always Me' can found on the 2015 album If I Can Dream, which contained Elvis' original vocals but with new backings by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and which actually went to number one in the UK album charts.
The re-recording of 'Starting Today' can found on the 2016 album The Wonder Of You, which contained Elvis' original vocals but with new backings by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and which actually went to number one in the UK album charts.
On the FTD release of Something For Everybody we get the complete Take 7 of 'Judy' right
up to "Oh please
" (1:52) and
then the song is spliced! What we should get from
here is Elvis breaking down saying "Oh no,
man". On the FTD from this point we get "Come
back I promise always to be true, oh Judy, there'll
never be anyone else dear but you" looped
from Take 7 (1:10 - 1:27), and then "Oh Judy,
there'll never be anyone else" (looped again
from 1:16 - 1:24), and then "dear but you" from Take 8 (last few seconds of the master).
'Judy' - Takes 1 to 4 are listed on the
UK EP Collection Volume 2 and Rare Elvis Volume
3 (Sample) but the running order is wrong. The correct order is as follows:-
0:00 - 0:47 = Take 1 false start, rehearsal and count-in for complete take (0:00-0:47 of Take 1)
0:47 - 1:52 = Take 3 (to "Oh please, come back I promise always to be true")(0:05-1:10 of Take 3)
The next section has been edited out of Take 3 "Oh Judy, there'll never be anyone else dear but you" instrumental break "Oh please, come back I promise always to be true…" (1:10-1:52 of Take 3)
1:52 - 2:04 = Take 3 ("Oh Judy" to abrupt end)(1:52-2:04 of Take 3)
2:04 - 2:16 = Talking from before Take 4 (0:04-0:16 of Take 4)
2:16 - 2:48 = Take 5 (to "That's why I dread to know you're gone… hold it")(0:13-0:45 of Take 5)
2:48 - 2:53 = Talking from before Take 7 ("I've never had this much trouble over a song…")(0:04-0:09 of Take 7)
2:53 - 2:55 = Talking from before Take 4 ("Okay, cough")(0:12-0:14 of Take 4)
2:55 - 2:58 = Count-in for Take 4 ("M2WW 0577 Take 4")(0:01-0:04 of take 4)
2:58 - 5:08 = Take 4
The movie Tickle Me features 'Put The Blame
On Me' with overdubbed guitar backing, done
during post production of that movie in October 1964.
In March of 2007, Sony decided to go through all of Elvis' masters. They retransferred everything and remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases since 2007 including budget soundtracks, Legacy releases, the 30 disc Complete Elvis Presley Masters collection and the Franklin Mint package.
